DAILY DOGGIE - DEC 4, 2025 (by Carlene White)

12 3 Well I now have had an official fall---it was really quite amazing... As I bent over to get some dog food out of the 2 foot tall stainless milk containers that contained our dog food so the rats don't get it.... My right knee said “just one minute I haven't had time to wake up yet". And furthermore my ankle agreed with it.. So I went down.. I didn't get hurt but I was annoyed enough to be able to utter a few choice expletives on the way down.. I really felt quite lucky I wasn't hurt at all but I was pretty damn annoyed --everything else seemed to be functioning except maybe my right knee. The real problem was the coffee was up.. And I was down.

I had never looked at this apartment from that viewpoint before because as lovely as it is and it is provision for. “UP” was not addressed-- in the old house I had ropes that I could grab and pull up but there is no up here. I was sitting And it took considerable effort to go from sitting to crawling but I did that but there is nothing in the kitchen to provide the “up” factor... There was a small possibility at the refrigerator door handles might be able to provide the up.. But I wasn't too sure how strong they were either it was going to take considerable sturdiness to provide this up;. So I crawl around to my chair and I managed to get my top half in the chair but that left considerable pounds still supported by knees on the floor. The whole situation was aggravated by the fact that the coffee with its marvellous automatic coffee maker.. Was up on the counter totally out of reach from sitting on the floor.  I do have a whistle hanging around my neck.. And I knew that Gwen usually gets up by 4:00 that was still an hour away.. So I saw no reason to blow the whistle and certainly no reason to push the button which would have bought ambulances to help me get back on my feet because they wouldn't get me back on my feet they'd carry me off to somehow hospital and I wouldn't be able to escape for 100 days until my Medicare ran out and then I get thrown out.

So I struggled And with my head supported by the chair I got my bottom up off the floor And placed firmly in a nearby wheelchair.. Which meant that coffee was now accessible and therefore the disaster is over with. So now my education is more complete with the down falling. Right- now my Biggest threat is plain old gravity

It does shed a light on the rapid deterioration of any particular joint either permanently or temporarily

so that I now have a new opinion of carrying a cup of hot coffee.. Or even a bottle of purple dye--- I must now consider what happens if any particular part of me decides not to function properly . I am not sure a Walker would have helped but it probably would break the fall and lessen the impact. So I have progressed to yet another view of life in general.. I now have to give greater attention to the surrounding “up” factors.

We do I think have a job to do today in Andover Gwen cannot be the driver because she still has to work 8 hours a day. So it probably is Elizabeth.. With one eye on the availability of Justin.. I have heard a rumor from Janine I think that Justin will become available for these odd jobs and hauling me around as soon as he gets his license reinstated--and I get mine renewed.

And I have lost misplaced or stolen my handicap sticker. which in it.s own way affectsw the "up" factor because all my "drivers" will not accept the MVB opinion that a wheelchair ramp on the bCK OF MY CAR WOUK]\LD. INDICATE SOME handicap..
