11 28 30 days hath September April June and November ---So we're almost there and I did hear rumors at mail call about maybe having a shattering on Monday we're really coming down to the wire I have a few quick picks there but not enough to get the the golden sold out status so if you can help please do we need and use every penny,,, So sitting here at 4:00 AM just off the top of my head what are our big expenses at getting our roadshow On the road and into daycare and nursing home centers/
These places aere in Desperate need of anything to keep the mind alive even if it is someone with a chicken on their head we provide a huge distraction to a bunch of people who needs distracting. And they're not all Alzheimer patients mind you there are a lot of them but in every home there are always a few mentally very alert and looking for something anything to see and talk about/// I can't tell you only because we don't keep that statistic but it's not unusual at all for us to be told that our dog just made someone smile where they have not been able to get any reaction from them in six months and it's not just the dogs the most amazing to me is the woman who sat for 45 minutes with a chicken on her lap absolutely thrilled to hold a chicken --Personally I wouldn't consider a chicken a life shining moment. But this kind of thing happens to us all the time I specifically spend some time watching these several blind and deaf people who are in the New England home for the deaf. They react so positively to any animal we could get in a position where they can pat them. Like the Bunny rabbit.. So back to exactly what our our expenses---animal food would be very high on the list--from bags of dog food at $90.00 ( And these bags are actual count have about 105 of our scoops. That's the Sierra cups for a scoop) And I wasn't ready for this one what I noticed Janine scooping to feed the turkeys. We have the one big Turkey Sarah and three younger ones and when I say Janine scooped she's scooped Using the generic size barn size scoop of a 2 coffee tin. ) When I asked her who she was feeding with that big scoop and she said. Sally our one big Turkey so I questioned that and she did say that a lot of the ducks were also eating out of Sally's dish OK so then that's a bunch of ducks and Sally getting this big scoop of food twice a day--And the food we use for all those feathered friends is layered pellets.
Add to that those darling little baby goats the nick used to feed four times a day out of a bottle are now pretty big generic goats who live in the pasture with the mother and baby goat which is no longer a baby either so there's four sizable goats there who will actually eat anything--but it doesn't matter what that anything is it still needs to be purchased along with the hay. Now As far as giving you the total picture Janine spent the other day Truckee 3 big trailer loads full of nice fresh manure and she was very lucky to have Meredith farms happy to get it at least they're closer to us than the usual over in Hamilton uh I have trouble remembering that name it begins with a B like bench wood or something like that--But that was 3 trips with the Ford 350 and the good morning how do you feel this morning OK smaller trailer which only holds 6 tons that 350 Ford does have a drinking problem in that it does use a lot of gas but then again it will tow anything) By the time you add an electric bill and a water bill
and somebody that helped take care of all these animals on occasion we do Depend very heavily on you people to keep us going --So any of you people who have parents. And I'm told everybody does that are in nursing homes or in the process of getting into a nursing home or daycare center the problem is nationwide even if we to tackle only our Essex Middlesex counties--we do try and pass the word along and get other people in other areas doing the same thing with our frying pans that works so well//
now My other problem of the day is it 3:00 AM larkey wake me up and I let him out and I let him in and I gave him water it was down low but it wasn't out and I adjusted the mats they're both he and sizzle alternately sleep on. Along with fluffies on the bed and I got nowhere he continued to walk back and forth in front of me with the painful look on its face --well I immediately worry about bloat I couldn't see any outward signs of that kind of thing. I offered him food and he did not touch it there's always smacks of a big problem and I don't see any cause except
I did have sort of cushion of things on my Walker---basically they were each made of two pieces of soft spongy 1 and one a little more significant in weight we're talking little pieces of material sort of stuff about 5 inches long that wraps around eac h the handles of the Walker.. Now the only alert I see is the fact that in the middle of the floor is only one of those pieces. The missing piece would certainly be of chewable size... We try and be so careful because of his addiction to chewing things like socks
.. We have a special container next to the laundry which is a wire basket hooked to the top of the door that my husband used in his medical practice to hang the blood pressure cuff in -----it makes the perfect size so when I'm throwing my clothes in the laundry to put my socks at the top of the door- At the moment larkey looks unhappy but not in pain and I am minus that 5 inch piece of material let us pray on that one-- I still have the second handle as a sample of what we're looking for.
I have said and we'll repeat the Danes are extremely demonstrative and communicative more so than any other dog I've handled... So when everybody says you say that because you happen to have Danes mentally went through A list of dogs I remember owning or handling so here we go-partial list...
my first was a Cocker spaniel then a standard poodle Basset Hound Labrador retriever sheepdog Newfoundland Saint Bernard Swiss mountain dog corgi Doberman. Beagle German shepherd Shetland sheep And an untold number of muts So what I say Danes R more demonstrative in trying to communicate is based on my experiences with an awful lot of dogs..
I hope lockie has not swallowed that bit of cloth
